I am not a photographer at all, but I do enjoy taking photoes.
For someone like me, who (as a translator and interpreter) works with languages
and verbal forms of expression most of the time, it is an extremely rewarding venture
to just forget all about words, phrases and syntax, and delve into the visual world
of themes and compositions, lights and timing, hues and contrasts.
And I mean day-long hunting expeditions, walking hours on end, all alone, in places
all too familiar or completely unknown, with the camera's strap around my neck...
It literally cleanses one's brain from the debris of all that verbal thinking.
Then again, one gets back to the office and as the pictures appear on the screen,
verbal thinking kicks in once again.
These pages were born from the embrace of the images captured by my camera
and the words and thoughts they have evoked in me.
